In case y'all are sitting awake at night worrying, it seems Zoe and I have worked out our issues. This week's Mr. Mom time is smooth like butter. She's sleeping (see above). She's happy. She's her wonderful self.
I used a psychodynamic model of rapid relationship diagnosis (a combination of experiential mini-interventions reminiscent of the Gestalt approach) to break down the problems Zoe and I were having last week. It was an interesting recipe: A dash of Virginia Satir-style questioning, a teaspoon of Bert Hellinger's Family Constellations, a pinch of Frank Farelly's Proactive Therapy and two cups of Victor Frankl's Logotherapy.
(Don't you love the bullshit you can find on the Internet!)
Truth be told, the only book we've taken pages from lately is Hillary Rodham Clinton's It Takes a Village. Last Friday, Busia and Dziadzia sat with Zoe so I could attend a work function. Then Monday, Aunt Steph put in her first Monday shift. The Good Doctor has agreed to hang out with Zoe each and every Monday... something Sonja and I are equally excited about and grateful for. On Wednesday, Sonja's usual day off, Aunt Shawn and cousin Sidney stopped by for a couple hours so Sonja could go to the dentist.
Family. Ain't it great? We sure think so.

I THINK MY GRANDAUGHTER WILL SOMEHOW FIND THE WHEREWITHALL TO PUT UP WITH HER FAMILY. AS FAMILIES GO, IT'S APRETTY GOOD ONE.
I tried that gestalt thing one time. Screwed up my back. Be careful.
