TRICK OR TREAT, PART 1

It might be hard to tell, but Zoe is a little, pink bunny for Halloween. If that hood was tilted at a more extreme angle, you'd see bunny ears and a little bunny nose. Very cute stuff. (And, yes, bunnies wear blue socks and brown shoes.)

She paid a visit to Daddy's work today, where they had some craft projects set up in the lobby and trick-or-treating available throughout the four floors of office space.

When we first got to work, Zoe was quite shy. I sat at my desk, and she stood between my legs... totally ignoring co-workers who stopped by to chat. Thirty minutes later, she was running down a long corridor -- bunny ears flopping in the wind and a balloon tied to a wrist -- shouting "HI!" at every stranger in every cubicle. By the end of the day, I'm pretty sure my co-workers were remembering the "shy" phase fondly. Funny stuff.

At one point, she pushed the "Alarm" in the elavator. I guess that's probably my fault for not paying closer attention. I probably would push the bright red button, too, if I didn't know what it did.

Later, she decorated a giant sugar cookie like a jack-o-lantern. Of course she wouldn't eat the cookie... or the candy she accumulated earlier. Unfortunately, nobody was handing out her favorite treats: green beans and frozen peas.

By the end of the day (actually, about 75 minutes of action), she was pooped. Here she is taking a quick breather. She likes spinning chairs very much. She'll slap a chair and say "Shit." At least that's what we thought she was saying (and, yes, we thought we were the worst parents ever). Now we realize she's saying "Sit," with as lisp.

Our town's official trick-or-treating is Tuesday. We're not sure exactly what we'll do that night... but odds are good Zoe will be in her bunny costume until then.

"Sit" "Shit." You think what you want about what you heard and I'll think what I want.

Anyway that's a mighty cute bunny. Happy Halloween.

OK, I HAVE BEEN MEANING TO TELL YOU KIDS ABOUT ZOE AND MY PLAYTIME TOGETHER WHICH SOMETIMES???....OK, ALWAYS TIRES ME OUT, AND ON THOSE OCCASIONS I MIGHT JUST SAY SOMETHING LIKE, "O SIT". BUT NEVER, NEVER HAVE I SHOWED HER ABOUT PRESSING ANY RED BUTTONS ON ELEVATORS. GIVE ME TIME THOUGH. AND I KNEW THE ENTIRE FAMILY WOULD SOMEHOW BLAME ME FOR ZOE'S WORDPLAY!! I THINK YOU SHOULD LOOK TO AUNT STEPHANIE FOR AN EXPLANATION WHO SPENDS WAY MORE TIME WITH HER THAN I DO.
