Two still growing, one to entertain

At 32 weeks and three days, I headed to get another ultrasound with my mom in tow. I wish I would have taken her to an earlier screening because the kids are seriously squished in there. It was hard to make out much or tell what belonged to whom.

Baby boy was shy and had his face turned toward my spine, so besides measuring his head, abdomen and thigh bone, we didn't see much of him. Baby girl seems to be a bit more extroverted and turned to give us a smile. She looks like she may have some chubby cheeks. Maybe one of these kids will actually take after me!

The tech said this will likely be my last ultrasound since the margin of error for figuring their weights will continue to grow. Unless they are in distress, we won't be seeing them on the big screen again. As of Thursday, baby boy tipped the scales at 3 lbs. 15 oz. and baby girl at 4 lbs. 7 oz. (give or take an 11 oz. margin of error).

When I called their smart-ass daddy, he said baby girl must take after her mom and finish all of baby boys meals! Can I help it if I have a healthy appetite? So the kids are still growing well and getting ready for their debut... probably sooner than later. Below is my latest belly shot (with my own Vanna White). Excuse the blur. The camera was on the wrong setting.

At my last OB visit, the doctor said she highly doubted I would make it to my 38 week and 1 day due date of April 21. Still, I've cut my hours at work and took the week of April 14 off in hopes of maybe making it there. My next visit with the doctor will be on Wednesday. I'll add an update, if there's any worthwhile news.

As I said, my mom was here this week to help out. Mom knew that meant she was on art project duty with Zoe. The kid seriously asks to do an art project 10 times a day. Darn daycare! Here's Zoe and Honey making a lifesize Zoe to color.

Hope she's got a few more art projects up her sleeves. Maybe she'll have to talk to Dr. Rezler for some ideas.

Until next time...

P.S. -- We are officially mini-van owners. Rock on! It looks sorta like this, but with a luggage rack for daddy's kayak.

Good to hear that things are going well and you are in or near the home stretch. The minivan will be a welcome addition when you try to get the double stroller, the pack'n play, the bouncy seats, the menagerie of favorite stuffed toys, Zoe and the twins, etc...to either grandmother's house.
