Happy Easter Eve

We brought a little Easter spirit to St. Joe's this afternoon. After all, what's the point of coloring eggs if Momma can't freak out just a little about all the places the dye is ending up besides on eggs.

The nurses didn't seem too upset when I went to the desk to explain the situation. I mean, of all potential bedsheet stains in a hospital... egg dye has got to be pretty high on the list of "good things," right? As for the striped shirt that ended up mainly orange... the St. Joe's gift shop had just one replacement alternative: "I'm The Big Sister." Quite apropo.

Of course dying eggs can be pretty hard work... especially for a Mommy that hasn't slept well for four days and a little girl who keeps skipping naps and struggling at bedtime while Mommy is away.

Friday night, Busia called the hospital from home so Zoe could "get some cuddles over the phone" before bed. Zoe tearfully told Sonja she wanted to "kiss your real face." That, of course, had the adults on both ends of the phone crying as much as the toddler they were trying to console.
.
We hope to have her home late Sunday or early Monday. Keep your bunny ears crossed for us.

"Nappin" photo is just precious. Can't wait to see next year's "coloring eggs" photo as there should be some additional participants in it.

And I'll try to be on the lookout for the cookbook titled "50 Exciting Ways to Cook Polish Sausage" so that you guys don't get bored with your supply.

Marissa,
Of course they are pierced ears. Zoe's almost 3 you know. We took a ride to the mall last Friday. Don't tell me Emily doesn't have hers done yet. Tsk tsk.

I did mention to Zoe's dad that when the stickers were all gone I could take her to the mall and get some studs. He just glared at me. I took it as a "NO".

Phew! Emily is on the 13-year-old-and-ears-pierced-plan, but I was wondering... I mean Steph had her ears pierced before me :)

If Big Daddy was "glaring" isn't that the pot calling the kettle black?

I think I got mine done in sixth grade. And then Rich and me went for our second piercings together when I was 16 but the place wouldn't let him qualify as a guardian for me even when we went with the story that our mom and dad were dead.

I had no clue that my children fibbed like that. I wonder how much else I don't know. No, maybe I don't want to know.
