A Dam Good Time

We recently took another relaxing summer weekend trip to Newaygo, which included this Saturday walk down the street from Honey and Papa's house to the boat launch where Croton Dam turns the Muskegon River into a lovely lake. That's Zoe enjoying the view with Honey above, and cousins Sid and Sam below:

A big reason for the trip was to celebrate Aunt Shawn's birthday. Here she is blowing out her candles.

And here's Zoe digging into a piece of cake:

Like all parents, Sonja and I frequently find ourselves giggling at the things that come out of Zoe's mouth. During this picture, she actually told us... "Yoyo going down slide. I'll be right back." Ummm... I don't think so kiddo. Maybe next summer.
s
Side note: She's still referring to herself as Yoyo, even though she can make the 'Z' sound. We'll tell her, 'Say Zzzzzzzzz-OOO-EEE,' and she'll answer 'Zzzzzzzz- YOYO.' Close enough, for now, I guess.

A few weeks ago, we referred to Zoe jumping off the diving board at Honey's house but didn't have a picture. Sonja nailed one this weekend (and, as you can see, Honey had the other angle covered). Here she is thinking about it...

And then lettin' it rip... Our little daredevil. Nice form, eh?

This last photo is a little embarrassing, but too cute not to share. We tend to think our kid is pretty smart. And she gives us plenty of basis for that opinion. But there are also random times you can't help but wonder if she's doomed to being as dopey as her Daddy.
s
In fact, why not make this a little game? Take a look at the picture below and post a comment that attempts to explain what's going on. No cheating, Aunt Shawn!

We'll give you the real answer in a day or two.
s
Hope summer is good where you are.

You told her to rinse off her feet before she goes back in the pool and she thought you said teeth.

Do I win the prize?

At first glance I would have to go with blowing bubbles or getting a drink, neither of which seem too appealing right now. However if she is trying to lift her boat (tub) into the water (pool) then there are other problems. Maybe engineering cousin Mariss can help her devise a different course of action.

Good photos though.

She did this in the pool Monday and then said "yoyo silly". (So whatever she's doing has stuck with her.) I thought she was going to do a summersault like she did in the house. I also wondered where she learned to do the Jim Carey fireman impression as her new catch phrase of the day was "let me show you something". . .

Definitely looks like a pre-swim pool foot cleaner so my guess would be she's making sure everything's clean - even between her little toes!
Love the pic of Zoe diving into the pool. By the expression on her dad's face I'd have to say he was a little surprised she was actually doing it!?!?!? :)

I like everyone's ideas... what is she really doing?

Sounds Yo-yo has a nickname for life? (isn't that how they get started?)

I think she is teaching her cousin Danielle how to get her face wet.

Or maybe not.

I dont recall a foot washer like that at 1712 Michigan for our pool...i thought it was just a bucket.
