This is Busia and Dziadzia shortly after they entered their surprise party, held at the St. Hyacinth Field House. Special thanks to all of those who came to celebrate with us, especially those who traveled long distances.
Mom and dad were pretty busy with party stuff, so there aren't a ton of photos to share from the event. A request... if anybody snapped any good pictures (particularly of guests), we would love to get a copy.
This next picture was taken when Busia and Dziadzia came into the fieldhouse. The biggest obstacle to the "surprise" aspect of the party was figuring out a way to get them into the building still unaware that the party was for them. The party planners couldn't come up with a plausible excuse, so figured the gig would be up when they pulled into the parking lot. But leave it to the braintrust of the operation, Dr. Steph, to come up with a solution. She convinced Busia and Dziadzia to drive past St. Hyacinth so she could show her friend, Jason, where she went to school. Once in the elementary school parking lot, she said "Hey, there's a party! I'm going to see if they have any Polish meatballs," and hopped out of the car. Busia would later say, "I thought she had been drinking."
We did manage to get some pretty good pictures of our youngest guests. Here is Zoe with cousins Danielle and Emily...
On Sunday, we headed to Supa Busia's house to celebrate her 86th birthday. Here's Zoe banging out "Happy Birthday" on the keyboard while cousin Zachary does an interpretive dance.
Zach's sister Emily joined in for a photo with Supa Busia...
And then Zoe got some alone time...
A very nice weekend, indeed.

YEA! I didn't want to be the first blogger (which really wasn't a concern since I just finished Emily's birthday.) But I've got lots of balloon playing pics... which was the game of choice for the Rezler goers....
Can you email me the pic of Danielle/Zoe/Emily?
And SO SORRY, I thought afterward that a 538 Dodson family picture should've been taken...
one more..... what about the making coffee story???
Looks like fun was had by all! Sorry we couldn't make it but were there in spirit!

Ok...i think we can leave out the coffee story. No one but us will really think its funny anyway. Unless you really experiences the Plop Plop Crunch Crunch of it all...you just wont get it.
