18 MONTH UPDATE

Tuesday was Zoe's year-and-a-half birthday. We bought one-and-a-half cakes and sang "Happy Birthday" one-and-a-half times. Not really.

Zoe did, however, hang out with her Honeygram over the weekend. She delighted in having someone new to boss around. She loves telling people where to sit. And her new favorite utterance is "Oh, man!" It's very funny.

We haven't been taking as many pictures lately. Probably because it's harder to get her to sit still long enough to capture anything! Here's a few recent, blurry pictures of Zoe and Honey in the mall... shortly after Zoe got herself a new pair of shoes.

Here they come...

... and there they go.

Sonja keeps saying that Zoe either A) Needs a haircut, or, B) Needs to start allowing cute little ribbons or bows to stay on her head for more than six minutes.

They've been playing slumber party at night:

Anyway... the whole reason for this post was the 18-month update. We went for a checkup on Wednesday, and Zoe is doing wonderfully. She's finally bulked up and is on the growth charts for weight (17th percentile... still small, but better than not on the chart at all) and seems to be leveling off at about 50th percentile in height. Doctor Turke says she's right on track in all other developmental areas, which makes us happy and thankful.

Finally, we'd like to welcome Jackson Elijah Lozen to the world. Family will remember Phil Lozen, one of my groomsmen. He and his wife, Amy, had their first child at 3:30 Thursday morning. Jack won't have trouble registering on the growth charts. He's reportedly a big boy... with big, "Phil-like" feet. (Phil's words.)

We can't wait to meet him. Congrats!

Congrats on a great report from the doctor.

Re: slumber party picture and Zoe's face --noteworthy resemblance to her Busia Rezler.

Good luck w/ deciding what to do w/ her hair! There's that stage when it's too short to keep a pretty in place... let alone them keep the pretty in place! For us, we found the non-elastic-but-stretchy pretties stay in well, but the clips are easier for Daddy to put in... Emily's hair (except for bangs) has never been cut... momma's not ready yet.

Hey, good luck with the ribbons/bows/clips/etc..in the hair. And if you find out how to get her to keep 'em in, PLEASE pass on to me. My car backseat is littered with Becca's hair bands, not to mention in every seat cusion in the house, under all the tables, blah, blah, blah!

Way to grow Zoe.

Congratulations to Phil and Amy on that very handsome son.

A HAT WOULD DO THE TRICK, A M HAT IN PARTICULAR. OR MAIZE AND BLUE BOWS. GLAD TO HEAR SHE IS A PERCENTILE CHILD, THAT IS IMPORTANT. AND KUDOS TO PHIL'S GROWING FAMILY. AND I AM SURE THE LITTLE LOZEN WOULD ALSO LIKE SOME MAIZE AND BLUE BOWS.
