The bookstore didn't get it exactly right, but close enough. I found the exact quote when searching for the author. It is as follows:

I love the bunny costume she looked adorable. I'm sure you two will never let Zoe be exposed to a scary gorilla like we did on holloween, remember that night Sonja. I'm so sorry but of all my memories of holloween that one sticks out the most, I couldn't help but laugh at you yelling and running all over the parking lot, I'm laughing right now so so sorry honey. I wish we were with you on her first holloween in fact we wish we were there all the time. Love you all, mom and dad
