A REAL SWINGER

Busia and Dziadzia came to town recently to pick up an early 1st birthday present for our little girl. And she LOVES it. The weather has been nice enough for her to play on it only three or four times, but she wishes for more. Every time we're outside, usually walking to and from the car, she points at the slide and grunts.

One funny thing about being outside... Zoe's not a big fan of grass. She'll lean forward from a seated position until her palms barely touch the longest blades -- as if she's going to stretch out into a crawl -- and then pulls her hands right back up to her side. Won't crawl outside, no matter the motivation. Hopefully that passes as the days grow longer and warmer.

put leaves just out of her reach--she'll crawl to them. And I think I pulled my back out lifting her to that slide over and over again. But she gets mad if you don't put her up there fast enough.

When her Aunt Stephanie was about her age, she wouldn't let me put her down on the sand in Florida. She outgrew that. Suppose Zoe will do the same.

How much longer do you suppose Zoe will let you buckle her into that swing?

The grass thing is normal. Becca was the same way, but once she got used to it, she's all over the yard now. I think it only took a week or two last summer/spring to get her used to the lawn. Keep putting her on it. Just one dad's opinion.

Great picture - looks like she's having a ball! Your mom's right, the belt will probably start bugging her really soon! Love the little feet sticking straight out -I remember those days... Enjoy the grunting - once she starts talking you'll wish for the grunting again. Okay, well maybe not until after she's been talking for about 7 or 8 years, but trust me, you'll be reminiscing on the days when talking wasn't an option. From your cousin with the 9 year old daughter that never stops talking....

Oh, it doesn't take 7-8 years to miss the "not talking" phase... Emily won't stop... and there's the cute babbling, and the snotty whiny talking back. Sometimes I wish there was a mute button! Zach is just grunting right now and it sure is nice!

Wasn't Wheatly somewhat dubious of grass as well?
