She's travelling to beautiful locations, has hordes of people jostling for her attention and is pampered every step of the way.
Life is good.
Two weekends ago we loaded a convoy of 18-wheelers (a slight exaggeration) and embarked on what would become an 11-day vacation for Sonja and Zoe. The first stop was the charming little isthmus town of Charlevoix, which looked like this from our hotel room terrace:

Our friends Josh and Allison were married on the shore of Lake Charlevoix that weekend. We had stopped to pick up Sonja's parents on the way north and they were gracious enough to dote on Zoe while Sonja and I had our first "night out" alone. Great food. Great setting. Great people. What could be better? Oberon on tap flowing into iced pint glasses, that's what.
The next morning, which happened to be my first Father's Day, was even better. It looked like this:

After a nice weekend in Charlevoix, we headed back to Honey and Papa's house in Newaygo. Since the plan was to head back north the following weekend for cousin Ashley's graduation party, Sonja and Zoe stayed put while I returned home for the longest work week in the history of corporate communication to pizza store employees.
Zoe soaked up walks near the Croton Dam and even got her first swimming pool experience. Sonja soaked up her family's willingness to care for Zoe. During one telephone conversation, I asked for highlights. "Zoe went swimming and I slept for seven hours!" Funny how the definition of a good vacation can change.
We can't go any further until you see a picture of Zoe in her swimsuit:

(Note to Gerber: Hit me on my celly.)
There's more fun planned for the summer. We'll keep you updated. Here's hoping you all have some great times.

I agree with your mom. I took a picture of Mark and Katie sleeping when Katie was about Zoe's age and it is one of Mark's (and my) most treasured pictures. She's quite a beauty! Enjoy every moment....
